More than 10 men have reportedly been arrested in a hidden brothel at the Okota area of Lagos State Nigeria over the weekend for performing homosexual acts.

According to the police,the brothel which is owned by a chief (name withheld), is said to harbour homosexuals, criminals and the likes he said. He further stated that the brothel is a hide out for homosexuals he emphasized.
According to him, the men were arrested during a raid at the brothel at Okota Lagos State yesterday afternoon 28th December 2020. However, some of the men have denied being homosexual. Contrary to what the police are alleging , one of the arrested men said he went there to party, and to relax.
Meanwhile, in a statement by the police, some of the persons arrested confessed to being bisexuals. Some of the arrested men already mentioned names of their alleged same-sex partners.
One of the men arrested, one Mr. Akinola disclosed that some clubs in ikeja area of Lagos are hangout spots for homosexuals and mentioned one Mr. Adeshina Alugba as his partner, alongside other suspects who the police is investigating.
Meanwhile, another of the arrested men identified as Femi Adelana has confessed his involvement with few male partners, according to him, he said he dated prior and even recently, amongst his male partners are Olaoluwa Idowu, and Ajayi.
Another suspect identified as Tayo Adewunmi allegedly confessed his involvement with one Felix Onabanjo. One Segun, confessed being involved with Adeniran Odeshi, his partner.
Police said some of the mentioned names/partners have being invited for questioning, while some others have disappeared into thin air.
He, however reiterated the Nigeria Police commitment to ensuring LGBT, are flushed out and made to face the wrapt of the law. In Nigeria the law criminalises public shows of same sex ‘amorous’ relationships.
The law prohibiting same sex was introduced in 2014 by then President Goodluck Jonathan. At the time it was presumed the strong anti-gay sentiment and persecution of homosexuals, would make the new law popular.
In his final remark, he said the brothel has now been shot down till further notice. He also warned all LGBT genders in Nigeria, to flee the country now that they still have the time, because the law is going to catch up with them sooner than they can imagine, he said.
