
The Police Command in Lagos State has detained two suspects over alleged robbery of a Toyota Corolla salon car, laptops and a phone.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos.
He said that a police team from the Surulere Divison in Ikorodu area of Lagos State apprehended the suspects on Wednesday at 2:00 a.m.
“Following a tipoff by the car owner, operatives of Surulere Divison were swiftly drafted and despatched to go after the armed robbers as the stolen car and other property robbed were being carted away.
“The police efforts yielded immediate results, as two of the suspects were apprehended and the car recovered while one of the suspects escaped,” he said.
Hundeyin said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for the swift arrest of the suspects.

“The CP directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Surulere Division, to bring all the officers involved in the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the vehicle to the command headquarters for commendation and appreciation for a job well done.
“Jimoh said that the fast response time and swift arrest of the armed robbers, and recovery of the vehicle and other valuables was highly commendable.
“The CP equally directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Yaba for discreet investigation.
“Jimoh directed officers to arrest other members of the armed robbery gang, erase their network and recover the remaining robbed items, and their other operational equipment,” the PRO said.
CP Jimoh also said that the swift arrest was to send strong signals to criminals in Lagos State that they have no where to hide.
Equally, the CP enjoined residents in the state to continue to have confidence and trust in the police and report any suspicious incident or threat to safety to the nearest police station.
