The Nigeria Police Force has informed residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) about an upcoming security drill scheduled to take place around the Idu Train Station on Thursday, November 28, 2024, between 9 AM and 2 PM.

The drill, a collaborative effort between the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Force, aims to enhance the preparedness of security agencies in responding to various security threats.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday, the public is advised not to panic during the exercise, as it will involve controlled explosions and simulated emergency scenarios.

The police assure residents that the drill is designed to test security response capabilities and does not pose any real danger.

“In furtherance of efforts in combating all forms of crimes and criminality in Nigeria, the Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to prepare security forces to respond appropriately and adequately to security threats in Nigeria,” the statement read.
