Opadokun made this known yesterday in Maiduguri while flagging off the distribution of police patrol vehicles to the various Divisional Police Stations in the state.

He said the distribution of the vehicles, would not only check criminal activities in Maiduguri metropolis, but also increase safety of all road users in Borno State.

According to him, “The purpose of this singular act today (Friday) is to ensure Police visibility on the highways and reduce commission of crimes and increase the safety of all road users across the nation.” Opadokun, however, warned: “In this case, there is no room for extortion.

Number plates are written on the patrol vehicles for members of the general public to notify the Borno Police Command in case any form of irregularity was observed,” adding that this is to support the Police in the fight against corruption by policemen on highways.
