Police pledge better service in Lagos, Ogun
Mr Adegoke Fayoade, an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos State, has pledged the police’s commitment to improving the quality of its services, particularly in Lagos and Ogun.
Fayoade gave the assurance during the Police Christmas carol/End of the Year celebration on Friday at the command headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.
The event was with the theme: ‘Police: Agent of peace to the world’.
Fayoade said that the peace in the zone would be sustained.
He urged residents to thank God for keeping them alive to witness 2024.
Fayoade, however, called on the people to report any suspicious gathering or individual to their nearest police station.
He added that without the information and goodwill of the people, the police’s task would be made more difficult.
In his sermon, the officiating minister, Rev. Benjamin Eragbai, urged the people to pray for favour to get a seat at the top.
“We all have seats at the top but not all get there. The only way we can get there is through prayer.
“You need favour to make it in life, to move from lower to a higher place.
“Some people seats at the top are empty due to sickness, death or stronger power that control them.
“Prayer can open doors of blessings, promotions, and good health, ” he said.
According to him, police are agents of peace.
Eragbai said that many people’s seats would have been empty if the police had not been involved in their cases.
Our Saviour’s Anglican Choir, Rose of Sharon, Our Lady Star of the Sea, Navy Chaplaincy Choir, Air Force Chaplaincy, St. Robert Army Chaplaincy, St. Anthony Police Chaplaincy, among others, were featured during the service.
