THERE is a new twist to the report of a disciplinary committee set up by the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Edo state, in which the immediate past leadership was indicted.

The Guardian yesterday, gathered that the police was already investigating the source of the bank statement used by the committee to arrive at its verdict of alleged financial impropriety by the immediate past leadership with a recommended of prosecution.
  
It was gathered that the bank statement submitted to the panel have been found to be “fake” and the police is now trying to unravel the origin of the document.

A reliable source in the state police command, which confirmed the development yesterday said the final report of the investigation, would soon be released to the parties.
 
The development which has presented the NMA in bad light, made the national leadership to send a three man national committee to investigate the whole process that warranted the setting up of the panel and its report.
