Police raid premises in Berlin of suspected Islamists
Hundreds of German police officers on Tuesday raided several sites in Berlin that they believed were being used by Islamists to support fighters in Syria. According to police, their prime suspect is a 51-year-old Moroccan man who is thought to have incited others to join jihadist groups in Syria.
They are also searching for a 19-year-old man from Macedonia who is suspected of having joined the jihadist battle in Syria.
Police said that there was no evidence that the suspects had been planning attacks in Germany.
They added that among the property searched was a mosque association.
