Police storm criminal hideouts to reinforce public safety in Abuja

From Odita Sunday, Abuja

In a bold and sweeping move to curb crime and restore confidence in law enforcement, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a massive crackdown on notorious criminal hideouts across the territory.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) have commenced coordinated raids targeting flashpoints known for violent crime and illicit activities.

The high-impact operation, which is already underway, combines intelligence-led stop-and-search efforts, strategic patrols, and targeted interventions designed to combat robbery, kidnapping, drug peddling, and other forms of violent crime.

According to CP Adewale, the raids are part of a proactive policing strategy to stay ahead of criminal threats and create a safer environment for all residents of the FCT.

“The safety of our communities remains our top priority. We are intensifying efforts to dismantle criminal networks and send a clear message that there is no safe haven for crime in the FCT,” he stated.

Residents are urged to remain law-abiding and cooperative during police operations. The Command emphasized that public support and respectful engagement with officers on duty are essential to the success of the initiative.

In a broader appeal, the Police Commissioner called on parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s activities and steer them away from harmful associations.

“Prevention starts at home. We urge families to play an active role in shaping the behavior of young people and deterring them from criminal paths,” he said.
