PPA tasks Buhari on anti-graft promises
PROGRESSIVE Peoples Alliance, (PPA) yesterday urged the President-elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his campaign promises by ensuring zero tolerance for corruption.
National Chairman of PPA, Comrade Peter Ameh, who made the remarks in a congratulatory message Gen. Buhari and his Vice President –elect, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, noted that if corruption is reduced to the barest minimum, Nigeria would in no distant time join the ranks of developed nations of the world.
Lamenting the country ‘s backwardness in spite of the presence of enormous human and material resources, the party chief attributed the woes of the country largely to corruption and the greed of the privileged few who amass wealth even to their unborn generations.
Said he: “Nigerians have by the election entrusted their welfare and development of our father land to our President-elect. Since integrity formed the major base of Gen. Buhari’s victory, we wish to believe that our president elect will sustain that noble attribute by ensuring zero tolerance for corruption as there is no doubting the fact that in spite of our country’s riches in material and human resources, we still remained weaklings among the other nations due largely to corruption and the greed of the privileged few to amass wealth even for their unborn generations.”
“We wish to commend the courage and dogged determination of the President-elect in the political contest in spite of his previous setbacks. I want to use this medium to commend President Goodluck Jonathan, who through his action has set a new tune for politics in Nigeria.
“He demonstrated a high level patriotism in conceding defeat and in putting the people before his ambitions. This aspect, I wish the incoming president and his cabinet will take into account by putting Nigerians first above any other.”
Ameh noted that, “Nigerians have by the election entrusted their welfare and development of our father land to our president-elect. We are not in doubt that General Buhari knows the boundary between military might and democratic administration.
“We urge and pray therefore that the President-elect rules by the rule of law and tenets of modern day democracy. With hope and dream of a better future, we of the PPA join all law-abiding citizens of our great country in submitting to the social contract under General Buhari.

Who is PPA? They were the party that ran ABIA state for eight years and stole all the monies in the state and left the state like a war deserted place. They now have the audacity to talk about corruption because EFCC spared them for whatever reason.
We will review and take appropriate action.
