The immediate past Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche JP, has tasked Nigerians irrespective of tribe, creed, religion or political affiliate to be dutiful and sacrificial to the service of God and man.

He made the call in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Archdiocese of Lagos, Methodist Church Nigeria, Sir Aramide Tola Noibi and made available to The Guardian yesterday.

He said this would make the society and the country live happily to affect the lives of others in their respective missions, calling on Nigerians to be serviceable and ‘Light Bearers of God.’

Uche made these remarks in Lagos while delivering a sermon at the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo during the church’s 2022 Annual Family Reunion Harvest Thanksgiving Service, tagged, ‘The Harvest of Phenomenon Evidences.’

Reminding the audience on the need to serve the Lord with all their hearts and resources, he
appealed to members to dutifully appreciate God not only during harvest thanksgiving service alone, but also all the time.

On the state of the nation, the former Prelate, warned the politicians against votes buying, thuggery and undue abuse of peaceful co-existence by heating the polity but to rather create conducive environment for all to happily live in at all times.

He also entreated the politicians to be tolerant of one another and shun rigging of election results and falsification, which might result to political and civil unrest in the country.

He urged the electorate and the security agents as well, to work hard and be obedient to the authority as well breed such an egalitarian society, that the nation would be proud of all times.

Uche admonished the electorate to vote for trusted and transparent leaders so as not to return the nation and the society to the present doldrums again, as the country is presently witnessing.

While congratulating the entire Methodists achievements so far, he also appealed for more zeal that would continuously make them be at the top of the ladder in effective evangelism and church growth across the globe.

He tasked them on more soul winning for Christ at all times and to spread the Church frontiers.

However, the highlights of the event were the rendition of choral songs to the delight of the guests from all walks of life.

The event was powered by the Light Bearers Executives, presided over by the Archbishop of Lagos, Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, accompanied by his wife, Sis Oluwafunmilayo Olawuyi and assisted by the Chairman, 2022 Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service Planning Committee, Sir Aramide Tola Noibi and the Harvest Planning Committee Members.
