The people of Edu, Moro and Patigi federal constituency in Kwara State have pleaded with the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership to help preserve and respect the APC members’ right and decision in the last Saturday House of Representatives primary.
The APC members hinged their appeal to the party on the fact that Ajani from Moro, a Yoruba-speaking community had been pursuing the Green chamber ambition since 1999 till date when other communities making the federal constituency, had rotated the seat among themselves.
According to them, Moro local government has not produced Representative in the national assembly, recalling that the federal constituency was represented by Late Engr. Yahaya Yunusa from Edu LGA between 1999-2007; Late Hon. Aliyu Ahman Patigi (Patigi LGA) from 2007-2019; Hon. Ahmed Ndakene Abubakar (Edu LGA) – 2019-2023 and Hon. Adamu Ahmed Saba (Edu LGA) from 2023 to date.
The APC members in the federal constituency told newsmen that they listed names of past representatives to convince the party leadership of existing injustice and unfair treatment in the political arrangements in the constituency.
They urged the attentions of President Bola Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, National chairman of the APC, his secretary and that of the state chairman and coalition and returning officers of Moro, Edu and Patigi federal consistency in ensuring the triumph of democracy in the area.
