Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sharply criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its excessive spending despite Nigeria’s ongoing economic difficulties.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele accused the government of prioritising opulent expenditures over efforts to address the nation’s economic challenges.
He noted recent lavish purchases made for government officials as evidence of this misallocation of priorities.
Primate Ayodele expressed concern that the government’s lavish spending is exacerbating Nigeria’s economic woes.
He remarked, “President Tinubu is further damaging Nigeria’s economy by indulging in unnecessary luxury instead of seeking solutions for economic recovery. It appears that government officials are out of touch with the country’s struggles.
“The economy will likely continue to suffer in 2025 if this trend continues. The government needs to cut costs; their current spending is detrimental to Nigeria’s economic health.”
He further criticised the administration’s apparent disregard for the country’s financial crisis, asserting that the government’s actions suggest a lack of concern for the nation’s plight.
