SCORES of pro-Biafra activists yesterday defied a warning by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, to desist from breaching public peace or face the consequences. SCORES of pro-Biafra activists yesterday defied a warning by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, to desist from breaching public peace or face the consequences. They staged peaceful protests in some cities in the South East and South South to demand for the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kalu from detention.

The IGP had in a statement yesterday morning signed by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olabisi Kolawole, said that intelligence report available to the Police indicates that there were “plans by the IPOB to embark on an ill-advised protest using dangerous weapon across some South Eastern States.”

She said the planned protests were unlawful and warned that the police would use all legal instruments available to stop the protests. “The Nigeria Police Force reminds the brains behind this security threat that the law prohibiting the unlawful possession of firearms is still in force. Therefore, any attempt to unleash mayhem on innocent and law abiding Nigerians under any guise by this group will be met with stiff resistance from the Police and other security agencies. The actors will be brought to justice in line with extant criminal laws.
“Citizens in the South-Eastern States are hereby assured of adequate protection, as appropriate Police deployment has been emplaced to deal decisively with any group or persons who might be bent on breaching public peace and threatening national security”, the statement said.

But in defiance, members of IPOB went ahead with the protest, bringing commercial and other activities to a halt for several hours in Onitsha.

The protest was largely peaceful as there was no information of any clash between the Police and the protesting IPOB members, until about 2.30 pm when it was gathered that one person was allegedly shot at the Ochanja Roundabout by the police.

Markets in Onitsha and its environs including Ochanja Central Market Onitsha, New Tire Market Nkpor, New Auto Spare Parts Market Nkpor etc, were all shut from 7am till about 2.30pm while vehicular movements were also disrupted along the Onitsha Enugu Expressway, Onitsha Owerri Road, Uga Atani Ogaru Local Government Road, Onitsha Aguleri, thereby causing traffic gridlocks on all the roads within and outside the commercial city.

It was gathered that the Anambra State Government had announced through the market leaders to ensure that the markets were open but the traders gathered early in the day on the streets discussing the protest which IPOB had declared earlier in the week.

Biafra-protest

IPOB Biafra group protest in Owerri yesterday.

The IPOB members, numbering over 20,000, were earlier seen gathered at Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu’s Statue by Niger Bridge Head, chanting and dancing Biafran songs, and later marched peacefully to down to Upper Iweka Flyover and the ever–busy Douglas Road, while some police officers marched behind them as they sang, “All we are saying is give us Biafra”.

The state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, however said the officers were at their back to ensure that they did not injure innocent persons along the road. He disclosed that the police arrested some of the protesters.
“If you come you will see those arrested. What happened is that we did not want to arrest them at the Douglas where people were. If we try such, people would have been injured,” he said.

In Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Police Command arrested 83 members of IPOB during the protest. Amongst those arrested were 78 males and five females who carried flags agitating for the actualization of a Sovereign State of Biafra.
Spokesperson of the command, Anisim Butswat said those arrested were raising the ‘Biafra flag’ along the Mbiama -Yenago road. “Those  arrested are at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for  investigations and interrogations,” he said.

Is this just your problem travelling passport. We are the youths, if you are educated you should have known by now that Nigeria is not a country but a nation. Even without the Biafrans agitation, she will remain like it is forever with all citizens hopping just on the production of oil. My friend ignore tribe and people, do you think Nigeria in the present formation will develop to anything. History has it that at some point European countries went their own ways, developed and now coming together as one having own economy. Maybe be the Ibos are sending a wrong massage but the truth is that Nigeria is not a country of which you know.

Must you expose to the whole world your high level of illiteracy and doltishness? You knew very well that you are linguistically challenged and shamelessly you come online here to proof it with your clueless comment.

You cannot smack a child and at the same time ask it not to cry. The Nigerian “nation” seems to be a political dishonesty. The gladiators – in – government seem to be blatantly ignorant of history or at best afflicted with intellectual amnesia to think that Boko Harammers and Niger Delta militants will be on the Federal government payroll while their counterparts in SE are labeled as criminals, will be greeted with jubilation in SE and SS. Sooner or later Buhari’s hands and legs will be full and the “nation” will sing “kumbaya” again.

Nnamdi Kanu does not deserve the attention that he is getting. The FGN should release the poor boy

He woke up from sleep one day, looked at himself in the mirror, saw a vague resemblance to Malcolm X and developed a messiah complex

The bottom line is that Igbo are happy to be an integral part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The FGN should separate – in their minds – Nnamdi Kanu from the sponsors of his trip to Nigeria, who are out to ignite the masses, whose impoverishment was caused by their failure to fix roads like Port Harcourt road Aba, for their own self interest, with their fake Biafranism.

Where was Nnamdi Kanu and Co., in the past 16 years, when Port Harcourt road, Aba – one of the capitals of the Federal Republic of Biafra – was going down the drain.

They did not challenge the Abia State Governors of that era. No one heard – “pim” – from them.

It is now that they are coming to foment trouble, ignite the masses and disturb our peace and tranquility, with their half-baked miopic Biafra.

One additional problem is that 98 % of the “New-era-fake Biafrans” do not own any real estate or investments in Lagos or Abuja

    • Author’s gravatar

      You should not have enmeshed
yourself so early in ‘ogogoro’. It wouldn’t have taken rocket science for you to
know that Port Harcourt road that formed your only reference point for
disapproving the agitation for self determination is a federal road. Give Biafra
their independence and forget about how they will survive. Why should you
      bother yourself?

      • Author’s gravatar

        Self deceit is very dangerous

Are all these highly placed Nigerian Federal Government Officials, in the recent past dispensation, not Igbo people:

        1. Olisa Metuh – PDP’s National Chairman;
        2. Pius Anyim – Secretary to the Government of the Federation;
        3. Okonjo Iweala – Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy;
        4. Ike Ekweremadu – Deputy Senate President;
        5. Emeka Ihedioha – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative e.t.c, e.t.c

How about the Governors, Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, of the six (6) Igbo States, in the past 16 years. Are they not Igbo people

Should we delude ourselves, and the hapless masses, into believing that while all these people held sway in Nigeria, in the past 16 years, they hatched and executed, a diabolic conspiracy against Ndigbo. Especially in the past 6 years, under President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, who was arguably an Igbo President

Why did all these “Biafrans”, with so much power, not fix Port Harcourt Road, Aba, when they were in Government.

This is not rocket science that we are talking about here. The answer is simple

The problem is that PDP had a pugnacious policy of lining the pockets of its members, at the expense of developing the infrastructure in our cities, like Port Harcourt Road, Aba

How about Orji Uzor Kalu and Theodore Ahamefule Orji. Are they not also “Biafrans” . What exactly did they do to improve the infrastructure of Aba – a former capital of the Federal Republic of Biafra

Igbo people have done well in Nigeria. We own real estate and investments in Lagos, Abuja and many other cities in non-Igbo areas of Nigeria, valued at trillions of Naira

We refuse to allow failed businessmen and traders, who do not own any property or investment outside Igboland, and who are being used by the same corrupt politicians, who looted the monies that was supposed to be used for the development of Igboland, to drag our prosperous businesses outside Igboland down, with their mediocre, ill conceived, bad-belle “Biafra”

A majority of Igbo people do not even want to live in ‘Biafra’. They only want to visit during Christmas or during special occasions because the market is not there for their businesses. And, significantly, the crime rate, armed robbery and kidnapping, is much higher in “Biafra” than in Lagos or Abuja

If they want to be taken seriously, these fake-Biafrans, should go to EFCC, collect the file of every Igbo man that has held any position in Nigeria since 1999 and start their agitation from there

Those are the people that are responsible for the parlous state of Infrastructure in Igboland

In the meantime, they should shut up, and stop disturbing our peace, happiness, harmony and tranquility, in the Federal Republic of Nigeria

        • Author’s gravatar

But you allow “Baba Go Slow” to constitute “kangaroo courts” in the name of so-called “electoral tribunals” to hijack the peoples’ mandate in all PDP States strong-holds in Nigeria overnight? Is that democracy or simple idiotic 3rd. world political greediness, which is leading to such Self Determination Agitations (SDA) in the South-South and South-East States? I guess within these 4 more years, the current ruling party, the APC (a very bad tablet for people to swallow – for that matter), the open disregard for the Rule of law and legitimately declared election results from INEC being systematically overturned by corrupt judges of equally badly & hurriedly constituted “kangaroo courts” would only return this West African country to unforseen, tragic chaos at the long run! Added to these ugly election hijackings, is the problems brought by “untouchable Fulani cattle herdsmen”, who deliberately destroy farmlands in the Niger Delta States; and to add insult to injury, they rape poor farmers’ women, kill their children and kidnap their men! And all we hear read and hear from APC-government & private-controlled TV stations and news media is to call these crimes against humanity “cattle rustling”! Who are they fooling? Time will tell!

Mr. (IGP), Solomon Arase of Islamic Nigeria Police, we the Biafrans, International human right, and some people of good conscience, like honorable Femi Fani Kayode, and Ariwa youth chairman knows you are simply lying because the shameless, uncircumcised child rapist, Mr. Muhammad Buhari, the terrorist, the bushman illiterate is your brother, Hausa/Flani, but don’t worry. The world knows that you guys are lazy, wicked, foolish lairs, and cannot survive without Biafran oil and gas. Gold diggers

            Don’t believe the propaganda

By January, 2015, the entire Nigeria had formed a consensus that PDP was the most corrupt political party in the history of Africa. They could not wait to disgrace PDP in the polls

The electronic card readers exposed PDP’s unpopularity in most States in Nigeria. Nevertheless, PDP was able to pull off some mago-mago in areas within its core control, like Rivers State and Akwa Ibom State, causing them to score lopsided victories, that the not reflect the mood in those areas.

So the election tribunal results are not procured by fraud

Regarding “Fulani cattle herdsmen” raping and killing citizens in the South East and South South. Nothing can be farther from the truth. Go to the police station in any City in the South East or South South, the desk clerk will tell you that Fulani Cattle Herdsmen are not their problem.

99.8 % of the violent crimes in those areas are committed by the South South and South East Indigenes

So the fear mongering of the proponents of “Biafra” is transparent for all to see. It will not succeed

        • Author’s gravatar

ALHAJI JOHN PAUL, you are missing the point. The main issue is that the people of Biafra said “Let all of us be ONE NIGERIA” and the rest of you NIGERIANS said “We cannot be one with you BIAFRANS and the Biafrans said okay Ällow us to be on our own and the rest of you NIGERIANS are saying”We cannot allow you”. In this case you do not want them to be with you, neither are you willing to leave them to themselves. There is an extent you push a man to the wall, the wall itself will give him an added momentum to fight you back. It has just began, we know it is not going to be a jolly ride, but it must speak at last.

It is said that one of characteristics that wealthy people have in common is that they appreciate what they have

The thousands of Igbo people who woke up this Sunday morning in their mansions in Ikoyi, Victoria Garden City, Lekki (I), Lekki (II), Ikeja GRA, Asokoro, Maitama, Jabi etc, etc., are happy with the peace, happiness and tranquility that they are experiencing in their neighborhoods, which is composed of Nigerians of every tribe and creed

On Monday morning, this same Ndigbo will drive their cars peacefully, to their offices and businesses in Victoria Island, Tin Can Island, Apapa wharf, Ikeja, Alaba market, and Garki and make thousands of Naira from their customers, who are also from every part of Nigeria

They do not want people who have been frustrated, by the looting of their leaders in the South East, to obstruct and destroy, what they have planned for, prayed for and achieved, after many decades of hard work and sacrifice

No one has articulated a cogent reason for the current agitation for Biafra. The fact that there is an Islamic insurgency in the North East is not a cogent reason for Biafra

Similarly, the fact that the noose is tightening around the neck of Saraki and Ekweremadu, or that PDP lost the presidential elections this year, is not a cogent reason for Biafra

People that are calling for Biafra, are failed traders and businessmen, whose businesses were ruined by Igbo politicians, who looted the monies that was supposed to be used to provide basic infrastructure, to Aba, Onitsha and other densely populated areas in Igboland

The Igbo man that just finished enjoying, a well deserved, sumptuous, breakfast buffet, in Southern Sun Hotel Ikoyi or Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, with his family, after decades of planning, praying, working and succeeding, does not want any part of this ill conceived “Biafra”

The Igbo that sails his boat in the open seas of Lagos, surfs in the ocean, flies his kite with his son in bar beach, walks with his family on the sandy beaches of Lagos and hangs out by the numerous beaches in Lagos, is happy that coastal Lagos is part and parcel of their country.

After decades of planning, praying, working and succeeding, Ndigbo that have achieved what our late, great, Patriarch, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, referred to as – “Biafra of the mind” – do not want the impediment of procuring a visa to Lagos to enjoy their hobbies

Let the fake Biafrans, those that have failed to achieve – “Biafra of the mind” – on account of the looting of their politicians, start by holding their leaders accountable and outing the treasury looters, arm robbers and kidnappers in the South East, before anyone will start to take them seriously

In the meantime, Ndigbo will continue to enjoy the peace, happiness, harmony and tranquility that they are experiencing in the Federal Republic of Nigeria

My people truth is light if you join couple into a marriage by force they can not live in peace. So called One Nigeria is a force marriage by British colonised mater , and both the South East & South South can not live in peace with Yoruba and Hausa Fulani because we are different people and different culture. The only solution is let United Nation give South East & South South Biafra Republic to allow peace to train.

OR in Hausa Land ? The Hausa and Yoruba are deserving you people and they continue transferring your Oil over 50 years into Northern Region instead to build a Refinery in South South Region. Again , My question is ” Who killed Ken Beeson Saro Wiwa ?

Shameless idiot like you and Brainwash people ,and you people are there watching hausa Fulani and Yoruba to continue thieving your Oil to Reserve in Northern side for their Children’s feature and you are here talking like a goat.

And what have you achieved from Nigerian government since you was born ? Idiot and you will remain always suffering and smiling. The Biafra will soon come weather you like it or north.

ONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT YOUR HANGOVER WOULD BE OVER BY NOW. HEAR YOURSELF.

“Why did all these “Biafrans”, with so much power, not fix Port Harcourt Road, Aba, when they were in Government.”

WERE THEY IN THE MINISTRY OF WORKS. DO YOUR AGREE THAT PORT HARCOURT ROAD, ABA IS A FEDERAL ROAD?

The problem is that PDP had a pugnacious policy of lining the pockets of its members, at the expense of developing the infrastructure in our cities, like Port Harcourt Road, Aba.

WHAT HAS THIS GOT TO DO WITH AGITATION FOR SELF DETERMINATION? THIS IS NOT ABOUT WHO OR WHICH PARTY IS IN POWER. IT IS ABOUT THE SYSTEM WHICH MAKES PATRIOTISM IN NIGERIA DIFFICULT.

Igbo people have done well in Nigeria. We own real estate and investments in Lagos, Abuja and many other cities in non-Igbo areas of Nigeria, valued at trillions of Naira

We refuse to allow failed businessmen and traders, who do not own any property or investment
outside Igboland, and who are being used by the same corrupt politicians, who looted the monies that was supposed to be used for the development of Igboland, to drag our prosperous businesses outside Igboland down, with their mediocre, ill conceived, bad-belle “Biafra”

NOW YOU ARE TALKING. WHY DO THOSE IGBOS HAVE ALL THAT INVESTMENT OUTSIDE IGBOLAND BUT OTHER TRIBES ARE NOT INVESTING RECIPROCALLY IN IGBOLAND? WHY IS THE PROPERTY OF IGBOS ALWAYS A TARGET WHEN THERE IS ANY PROBLEM OUTSIDE IGBOLAND? WHO ARE YOU REFERRING TO AS FAILED BUSINESSMEN AND TRADERS HERE? WHEN THOSE WHO HAVE PROPERTY IN LAGOS OR ABUJA RUN HOME WHEN THERE IS PROBLEM THERE, DO THEY CARRY THEIR PROPERTY ALONG? MOST OF THEM STILL SQUAT WITH YOUR FAILED ‘BUSINESSMEN AND TRADERS’ IN IGBOLAND. THE POINT IS THAT YOU ARE NOT IGBO AND WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND.

DO YOU MEAN THAT OTHER AREAS ARE CRIME FREE UNLIKE IGBOLAND? EVEN WITH THE BOMBS GOING OFF EVERYDAY IN SOME OTHER AREAS? STOP DRINKING TOO MUCH OGOGORO AND BURUKUTU.

If they want to be taken seriously, these fake-Biafrans, should go to EFCC, collect the file of every Igbo man that has held any position in Nigeria since 1999 and start their agitation from there
Those are the people that are responsible for the parlous state of Infrastructure in Igboland

IF ONLY YOU ADVISED THE NORTH TO DO THE SAME WHEN THEY BLAMED YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE NORTH FOR THE EMERGENCE OF BOKO HARAM. DO YOU SEE YOUR HYPOCRISY?

In the meantime, they should shut up, and stop disturbing our peace, happiness, harmony and tranquility, in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

WHY NOT BE REASONABLE FOR ONCE? IS CIVIL AGITATION FOR SELF DETERMINATION A CRIME? BIAFRANS SAY THEY WANT TO HAVE THEIR OWN NATION. THEY ARE NOT SAYING THEY WANT TO ANNEX YOUR NIGERIA. BE FAIR AND SUPPORT THEM EXCEPT YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO JUSTICE.

          • Author’s gravatar

Rejecting Biafra does not mean that a person is not Igbo

The bottom line is that the majority of Igbo people, including our Governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo, do not not want Biafra. As stated above, we are happy just the way we are in Nigeria

Peaceful protests are the inalienable rights of people. The police cannot deny them that right. If they commit crimes, they become liable; but if all they do is to stage peaceful protests, there is no reason to threaten them.

  • Author’s gravatar

The Nigeria govt. is just shying away from this agitation. Over 20,000 people in Anambra and 83 people in Bayelsa protested for self-determination, people are saying different things against them without asking why this action? Well, it is not unusual for all the IBOS not to support the cause, when the cause succeed all will gain. When self-determination was first moved in 1956 from the colonial Britain, a section of this country did not support the move but today they are the custodian of everything in Nigeria. The people are saying if after 25 years of civil war, what caused the war is not settled they want to be on their own, you people are pretending because you can conspire and oppress them. ‘One day a King will reign that know not Joseph, Israelites will go’. Let a Referendum of self-determination be carried out in Nigeria to see those who want to belong to Nigeria or elsewhere. Think about this.

You and your white sponsors should do it like China. Go into the see and build an island for you and your slave-owners to live on. Just because someone slept with your mother does not mean you are a Nigerian.

    • Author’s gravatar

I think you people have dressed this issue of going or not going more than necessary. Who, in fact, is holding you back? If people are advising you to stay on in this country called Nigeria, it is in your interest and for the good of the Igbo nation.
The igbos have never done anything with one voice since I got to know them. They are always looking for ways of cheating themselves. The believe is that if you are in a vantage position, you should use it to maximise your financial, political and influencial gain. Between 1999 and 2007 when PDP zoned senate presidency to the South East, how many senate presidents came up. Almost four or five. They kept changing themselves. Look at the North Central between 2007 and 2015 when it was their turn, only David Mark was there. They were able to manage their political differences and ambitions. I am sure if Biafra is created today, it will not take two years for the whole world to start meeting over how to pacify the various ethnic nationalities therein to sheath their swords over who to be President , Vice President etc. That time you would be asking yourselves ‘ Why Biafra in the first instance?’ Those prevailing on you to see reason are not cowards, they are not back biters, they are indeed your learned and experienced elders who themselves have gone through what you have not seen let alone go through it. A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

      • Author’s gravatar

You shouldn’t concern yourself too much about how or if Biafra would survive because it is NOT your business. If you do not know who is holding us back, you are either a fool or a liar.

      • Author’s gravatar

You are a nonentity, what is one voice? When one man tells the rest what to do that means one voice, that is primitive. A healthy nation strives on a healthy debate and a competition of ideas, not an imposition of an idea on the rest of the people as you are accustomed to in your region, and that can explain the backwardness of many of your regions that has only one voice without reasons and contributions from others. We call that the cavemen society.

        • Author’s gravatar

I assure you that replying you here is like dignifying you. You people are uncivil in your utterances. Imagine your response and that of one walter enang to a simple expression of ideas. You are not under any bond to agree with my views but resorting to the use of words like you are a fool, nonentity etc that are characteristic of vulgars smacks irresponsibilities.
Good luck on your Biafra cause if you think you can achieve it by intimidations.

          • Author’s gravatar

I think I agree with you my brother. The fact is: about 60% or more Nigerians are illiterates and you know how they behave in every environment! Be they at filling stations or on the pages of newspapers or online media like this, they simply pour their frustrations in life at anyone, who takes part, unfortunately, in forum discussions like this one!!
I still think the Guardian Editors should do a good job of filtering-out these kind of media commentators and ban them from the in-house or online- debates. But 1st. give them a “yellow card” as a warning; thereafter, if they still persist in insulting people they don’t know, a “red card” and “Gbam”! “A stitch in time saves nine.” These type of Nigerians or other Africans, only understand hard measures.

Oh my brother, I don’t know these are the kind of people I often defend as my brothers. I am ashamed of them. They have no trait of civility in them. It is sad. In the twenty-first century? No wonder we are still being referred to as the ‘Third World’ Why not ? with these type of people? God have mercy.

How can Nigeria bomb Igbos for 3 years for daring to seceed and you come here and ask who is holding you. If you were born in the last few years, have you also not gone to school? At least in social studies you should have learnt a bit of Nigerian history. And for your info, there is no way everybody will agree to it. In UK, Spain and many other countries there are groups agitating for self-determination….not everybody in Scotland for instance agrees to Scotland secession from UK, not every Catalonian in Spain agrees that Catalan should break from Spain etc. So what do people find unusal in some Igbos not accepting Biafran agenda. It is very normal. If you are asking “Why Biafra?” it means you are very naive and no nothing about Nigerian history. So many books were published on Biafra, go and do some reading. Biafran struggle isn’t debates on APC/PDP that anybody can just wake up and start talking. Do some readings and ask questions…there must be a reason why some people are prepared to die for the struggle. This should make anybody that is genuiely interested to ask questions or at least do some basic readings. Hope you do some reflections…

Igbos did not want to secede. Few Nigerians born and raised in non-igbo lands of Igbo lineage wanted their own empire. They wanted to be Oligarchs. The sacrificed the commoners in Igbo land for their adventures and when they failed absconded with their tail between their legs to self-exile. Others collected money from their diaspora tribesmen allegedly to buy arms and pocketed the money…it was a failed empire creation enterprise when the world had appetitie for such…now everyone is coming together and breaking down borders…with free trade zones – EEC, North America, USA-Pacific nations, ECOWAS, etc…and these half-baked refused-to-learn-from-history wannabe-Oligarchs wants to repeat failure. This time all Nigerians – Government and people – would stand up and protect the innocent masses of Igboland from being hijacked again by crazies in the name of wanting to be Oligarchs, like we say, by hook or crook. We would not be sentimental, we would give anarchists the same treatment the law recommends…like Boko Haram. Just watch – still water runs deep, the fact that the federal government has not made any comments should let everyone know never to test the resolve of Nigerians and this administration to keep Nigeria one and maintain the peace & security for all, which is the number one duty of any government.

Imaginative talk…the government can go on and kill people that are not making a demand that is outside the law. That only means that we are not democracy yet. An to compare the Biafran movement to Boko Haram shows that you don’t even have a clue what we are talking about. Like I said, imaginative talk

This your idea is pure crap and even at that -when a Northerners was Gowon and he was overthrown by another Northerner Gowon and another Northerner Shagari was overthrown by another northerner Buhari who was overthrown by another northerner Babangida -how come you did not ask how many but you want to talk how many senate presidents? In case you do not know- all the stories about how Igbos are not united is mere propaganda. If you think the North wins elections because they are united, it is a lie. It is because they are better betrayers. Are you saying that if Jonathan was a northerner he wouldn’t have won? The British always want a Northerner because that way they can use him to subjugate others. You crap about the world coming to settle dispute is also a lie. One nigeria has never worked and if it did not work in 100 years when do you expect it will start working?

” Injustice Is Again Forcing the Igbos to Rethink their Continued Stay in Nigeria”

Nigeria problem is very simple one but the unguided euphoria of pride and arrogant of those who feel they are entitled to rule Nigeria, and by perceived military strength or might felt they can subjugate the rest to perceptual slavery is the major reason a simple problem has become complex, and the resultant effect unfortunately is going to lead to an armed insurgency. When we had regional governments no region was poor and the nation was more united and prospered because there were fewer interventions by the Federal Authority. Every region had its own autonomy so why can’t we go back to a tested system that guaranteed peace to each region and that secured the future of the Republic in a peaceful atmosphere? . Biafra of the old was borne out of a sense of insecurity and betrayal of the people by a government that suppose to protect its citizens, but the Center of Power kept silence as innocent citizens of our Republic were butchered and some even buried alive. Today, instead of our present Government to address the social- economic and political issues that made some citizens feel extremely marginalized, we have a Government that is seemly telling the people to accept injustice as the rule and letting them know that they are helpless to change their subjected slavery conditions, This later action by the Government will ultimately increase the support and wider agitations for the creation of a Biafran Nation. The coalition that fought the first war is no longer in existence, and if it still exist, certainly appears very weak, as the main actors Yorubas and the Tivs who had aligned themselves with the Northern Fulani element will be reluctant to die to defend Nigeria that has worked tirelessly against their interest and against their people. Minorities in South-South of all persuasion will be reluctant to support Hausa/Fulani in any future war.So if the Igbos shows seriousness to break away from Nigeria, nothing will stop it, and if the current government does not understand that and begin to implement policies that will address the common fears, worries and concerns of all segment of the Nigerian society, particularly the Igbos who has long felt that in the mind of the “victors” the war never ended as the past hateful policies against the Igbos has remained largely unchanged, then Nigeria must have missed an opportunity to remain as one indivisible nation, and sooner than later Nigerians will be telling the Igbos WELCOME HOME TO THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF BIAFRA. This is not far-fetched as the fight to freedom has its own divine strengths but we can stop that downward slide now by reversing the unjust actions of the past and the earlier the Government wakes up and act, the earlier the Republic can be saved, and so I have submitted. this day, November 11, 2015

How protected are the South Easterners when there are no good roads, federal presence like industries, except the rogue police collecting money at every 1km interval on our roads? Ndigbo tetanu ura ooo!

I dont get you. Dont the Governors of these states collect money. This biafra thing is trash, Blaming the federal government for underdevelopment in the region under the guise of tribalism. The Governors are responsible. They should give account of how they have managed the states.
This is just a cheap ploy by some few to manipulate the lack of education among the masses of that area

Peaceful protests in any democracy are lawful. Why is the case of Nigeria different? However, this does not mean that I am a supporter of the Biafran cause.

The agitation of IPOB is quite in order, should be encouraged and sustained. The time of politics is over, the dream of a great Igbo nation cannot be realized under the current system that is lopsided against the Igbos and there minority brethren. The inherent imbalance in the allocation of resources that mainly flows from our region is unacceptable. The people of Nigeria do not like each other, so why live together in a bloodbath relationship. We have linguistic, cultural and religious difference that even education has not been able to eradicate, so why pretend we have a nation when we discriminate against each other, so what is the reason to have a nation. If we are progressing and living at peace with each other then no one will be clamouring for an independent nation. People are being deported to the region of origins because of their Ethnicity, people are being massacred because of their religion and ethnicity, Federal projects has been systematically denied to the Igbos because of their ethnicity, so what is the basis of One Nigeria. The fight to liberate Igbos from the strangulation of One False Nigeria is now, so, I support the agitation of Biafra BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY, SOLDIERS ARE MEANT TO DIE FOR THEIR NATION, NO BLOOD IS WASTED FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM. BIAFRA, I HAIL THEE!

Any region that feels it cannot sustain itself can join Benin Republic, Togo Republic, Niger Republic, Cameroon Republic or simply form an alliance, Igbos no longer have faith in One Nigeria that is simple and clear. The question of national identity cannot be answered by force. Americans are proud to be called Americans, and so are citizens of many Countries, but when a segment of a large population feels not being part of the system, and when people will go to the extent of killing you or Government of the day will go to an extent to denying you of your due rights because of your ethnicity, then it is time to break away. Nigeria was NEVER meant to be together, before independence Northern and Western Regions were opposed to one Nigeria. In 1967, former Eastern Nigeria declared the Republic of Biafra, in the 90s, MEND was formed to liberate the Niger Delta Region, ODUO Republic was formed to liberate Yoruba when Abiola was denied the mandate to rule, Minorities in the North are massacred every day by the Fulanis, Boko Haram wants a Muslim Caliphate, so why force Nigeria on those who do not want Nigeria? Nobody in their right senses wants Nigeria, Nigeria meant nothing but WAR, DISEASE, ETHNIC, TRIBAL& RELIGIOUS CONFLICT. Igbos are not happy in Nigeria and we are willing to do everything within our poWer to extricate ourselves from the strangulation of ONE IMPRACTICABLE NIGERIA, SO THE STRUGGLES TO FREEDOM CONTINUES. BIAFRA A DESTINATION ALREADY DESTINED BY GOD.

Gold diggers. Biafra or death

My Man, which oil and gas are you talking about? i hope its not from the South South, from the best to my knowledge Igbo’s doesn’t have any gas, and please stop including SS to your struggle.

Biafra was in existence before Nigeria. Here is an 1858 Map of Africa, please show us South-South and South East? When you are done tell us why you changed the Bight of Biafra to Bight of Bonny and in case you have forgotten the entire territory was Biafra and the bight of Biafra was conquered by the British in 1849. Spend some time before your South-South and South -East. However, if you remember oil share was offered during the war but the British asked northerners their lackey not to agree. If all the oil is given to Northerners and they allow Biafra be, in less than 10 years they will see the difference.

Nigeria is nothing but an Bermuda Triangle where everything and anything perishes. A zoo is for animals, why make it a permanent home. Biafra has become desirable after many years we have called for the restructuring of Nigeria has failed to deaf and prideful ears.

The biggest catastrophe of colonial imperialism in Africa was the creation of Nigeria, which quite frankly was nothing but the creation of Weapon of Mass Destruction and our experience since the so-called independence in 1960 from the British imperialistic rule are all written in human bloods. We refuse to accept this genocide notion as a nation.
