Besides, the group said that the fight against corruption by the present administration was transparent and devoid of political, ethnic and religious colouration, pointing out that the fight was being executed in the interest of present and future generation of Nigerians.

In another development, a civil society group, the Concerned Citizens for Constitutional Democracy (CCCD), has warned that the country is gradually sliding into a dictatorial system of government with the rising wave of arrest of perceived opposition members and the flagrant neglect of rule of law under the guise of fighting corruption.

The CCCD, in a statement issued yesterday by its National President, Anthony Kolawole, particularly condemned the invasion of the residence of former Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdulahi Diko Inde and the terrorising of his family to the extent that some were crying.

“This is a new dimension in the unleashing of state apparatus against perceived opponents”, the statement said.

Aliyu said: “We categorically and unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms any move by the PDP or their agents to harass, intimidate or subvert the effort of the present administration in the fight against corruption by whipping political, ethnic and religious sentiments.

“We and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians are solidly behind President Muhammadu Buhari in his quest to fight corruption to a standstill to make our dear nation once again be viable and respected in the comity of nations, thereby attracting investments from all over the world.

“We of the Buhari Vanguard shall continue to sensitise Nigerians on the laudable policies of this administration aimed at bringing lasting peace, stability and economic progress to our dear nation.”
