The Lead Pastor, Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo, yesterday, said that efforts must be geared toward developing quality education that is not only based on academic knowledge, but also inculcates morals and fear of God.

Speaking at the 80th birthday of the founder, Tobi International Group of School, Princess Olufemi Omololu-Thomas, at All Saints Church Jericho, Ibadan Oyo State, Ighodalo, while delivering the sermon, described the celebrant as one of those who contributed to the development of quality education that was not merely based on academic knowledge, but also focuses on morals, fear of God and human development.

Ighodalo said: “The fact that you are marking 80 years is a glory to God. The challenge many people is facing today is not that they do not know or believe in God, but they have failed to realise the purpose and focus for which God created them.”

He noted that Princess Omololu-Thomas stands out because she was able to realise her purpose and focused on Christ. He added that she also through the grace of God, impacted knowledge, and virtue on members of the society through provision of quality education.

While the cleric enjoined Omololu-Thomas to continue to thank God for the daily mercies, which she and her family had been enjoying, he charged the celebrant to always forgive.

He also told the celebrant to continue to be kind to people as she forges ahead in the journey of life, saying, “Close up the gap and ensure you owe nobody anything. Keep doing your best and leave a legacy. Make sure you serve God till the end of your life.”

The minister in charge of the church, S.F.O Jolayemi, described the celebrant as a wonderful person, mother and follower of Christ.

In her remark, Omololu-Thomas expressed gratitude to God for keeping her alive at 80. She said that her parents and her brother did not live up to 80 years. “For me to make it to 80 was divine grace and mercy of God.”

Prominent clerics across denominations as well as many notable Nigerians attended the event.
