Remain law abiding, Olowo charges Igboho, supporters

The Olowo of Owo, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, has tasked the Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, and supporters, to remain law abiding in the face of challenges.
Oba Ogunoye, who hosted Igboho and his teeming supporters at his palace in Owo, Ondo State, gave the charge in his Facebook post sighted by journalists on Wednesday.

While describing him as a beacon of hope to his generation and future generations, the monarch lauded the Yoruba nation agitator for his resilience and leadership, stressing that he should not be deterred by tribulations.

Assuring Igboho and his supporters of continued support, Oba Ogunoye underscored the need for cooperation among communities in the South West, just as he emphasised that effective development can only thrive in a secured and peaceful environment.

Speaking earlier, Igboho, who noted the laudable support and solidarity from South West traditional rulers during his travails when his Soka residence in Ibadan, Oyo State, was invaded by agents of the Department of State Security (DSS) on July 1, 2021, appreciated the traditional ruler for his warm reception and encouragement.

Recalling the attack, which left two persons dead and 13 of his aides arrested, he commended the support he enjoyed in his previous struggles against repeated onslaughts by herders, which allegedly culminated in the killings of farmers, rape, and severe injuries in recent years.

He further stated that when our people were under constant attacks from hoodlums, it was the encouragement and wise counsel from the monarch that helped us remain steadfast and survive the turbulence.
