Rep decries ‘politically-motivated’ crisis in Taraba

A MEMBER of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the House of Representatives, Danjuma Usman Shiddi, has decried what he described “political/economic motivated” crisis resulting in the destruction of lives and property in Taraba State.
Shiddi, who spoke with newsmen in his office in Abuja yesterday, dismissed insinuations that the crisis was caused by religious and tribal factors.
The lawmaker, who raised the alarm, warned that some interest groups were determined to circumvent and exploit the situation in the area for their selfish interests and called on those who feel cheated to rise up in defence of their rights as well as participate in the political and economic activities of the state.
He argued that if equal opportunities were made available to all interest groups to participate in the political and economic potentials of the state, there would be peace in the area. While pledging quality representation for his people at the National Assembly, the lawmaker said his major area of focus is provision of rural roads, electricity, water, primary healthcare and agriculture.
