Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have applauded the work on the multi- billion dollar Abuja Rail Mass Transit Project after visiting the construction site located in the central area of the FCT.
The Director of Public Building of FCTA, Anwaninu Anthony, explained to the committee that the December 31 2015 deadline was not met because of inadequate funding.
The lawmakers were also given assurance that once money is made available, the contractor would within 11 months finish the job.
On the issue of compensation of indigenes raised by Bitrus Jisalo, a member representing AMAC/Bwari federal constituency of FCT, Anwaninu said all compensation have been dully paid.
He urged the panel to verify from the community leaders.
Chairman of the Committee, Herman Hembe, who spoke after a ride round the project site with his colleagues in on one of the construction bus trains taking off from the central area terminal through Idu down to the International Airport, expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far by the contractor.
