Following recent cabinet reshuffle in Anambra State, the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Uju Nwogu, has cleared the air that their resumption of offices is not with immediate effect.

Nwogu, who spoke in an interview with newsmen in Awka yesterday, explained that the commissioners were given two week to tidy up their work and files in their various ministries, before handing over to new commissioners.

She explained that the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, has now been split into two, namely the Ministry of Information and Communication Strategy, and the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism.

Nwogu, who now assumes the portfolio of Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development in the new arrangement, added that no commissioner was dropped in the reshuffle.

It would be recalled that the state governor Willie Obiano, had on Wednesday last week, announced a cabinet reshuffle to consolidate the successes recorded by his administration in two years in office.

He said, “The new re-alignment is also expected to ensure a more focused, results-driven administration that will speed up the pace of development in the state, by injecting a greater sense of urgency and efficiency in the business of government.”
