The reTHINK Initiative has stated that the realm of entertainment extends far beyond mere gratification.  In a statement, it observed: “We are deeply cognisant of the persuasive influence that every piece of content wields over the human psyche. In this context, reTHINK emerges as an ardent initiative, ardently dedicated to the nurturing, cultivation and empowerment of creative enthusiasts and emerging filmmakers. Our purpose is to endow them with the requisite skills and profound insights essential for crafting content and cinema that transcends entertainment, fostering reflective contemplation and promoting constructive action.
  
“Through our unwavering endeavours, we endeavour to engender a lasting and beneficial impact on individuals and society as a whole. Our primary mission is to harness the formidable potential of storytelling as a formidable instrument for propelling positive social change, thereby contributing to the broader objective of national transformation.”
   
The initiative continued: “Since our establishment in 2015, we have consistently organised yearly boot camps and recurring events. These platforms serve as invaluable crucibles for learning, networking and collaboration among creative enthusiasts. Consequently, they have nurtured a vibrant community of filmmakers who appreciate the transformative potential of storytelling in shaping society.”

Our selected participants gain access to free training and receive comprehensive instruction across diverse facets of filmmaking with a focus on societal impact. Following this training, participants choose a specific topical issue and produce a short film addressing it.
