Ribadu meets Akande over planned return to APC
PIONEER chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu on Sunday met with former Osun State governor, Chief Bisi Akande.
The Guardian gathered that the meeting which lasted several hours was held behind closed doors at the Ila Orangun country home of Chief Akande.
A source said yesterday that the Ila meeting might not be unconnected with the planned return of Ribadu to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The source also added that Ribadu, before meeting Chief Akande, who was the pioneer interim chairman of APC, had held a separate meeting with members of the party in the former governor’s lodge.
At the meeting, Ribadu was said to have disclosed his intention to
return to APC, saying the Action Congress of Nigeria on which platform he contested the 2011 presidential election was a big factor in sharpening the political direction and development of the country.
It would be recalled that Mallam Ribadu contested the last governorship election in Adamawa State on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and lost to the APC candidate.
