Rights group urges speedy passage of new anti-graft bill
The Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ has urged the National Assembly to speedily consider and approve the Money Laundering Prevention and Prohibition Bill 2016 and the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Bill 2016.
ANEEJ, in a statement by its Executive Director, Rev. David Ugolor said the request by Mr. President is very timely in the wake of the overwhelming revelations being made by the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, (rtd) in the administration of immediate past president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
“If the NASS are not to be seen as a clog in the wheel of the fight against corruption, they must quickly look at the bills as presented by Mr. President and do justice to them,” Ugolor said.
