The Emir of Kano, Mallam Mohammadu Sanusi II, yesterday, inaugurated the Dangote Business School building at Bayero University, Kano, built by the Dangote Foundation.

The ultra-modern structure, which houses one auditorium with 650-seating capacity, two theatres with 200-seating capacity each, four lecture halls with seating capacity of 60 each and two libraries that can accommodate 120 readers each, cost about N1.2billion.

Sanusi, who applauded the humanitarian gesture of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, regretted the low enrolment of northerners in Western education.

President of Dangote Group, Dangote, said the vision behind the project was to build a world-class centre to train business entrepreneurs in Nigeria.

Dangote urged the university to ensure the facility accelerates economic integration in Africa.

“It gives me pleasure that with this little innovation, the school will be able to produce world-class business entrepreneurs from Kano. Our interest is to give the best academic excellence you can get anywhere in the world and be a reference point in research and business development. The business school should be able to foster relationship with other international business institutions in the world,” Dangote said.

Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Prof. Mohammad Yahuza Bello, said the facility would help the institution deliver quality training and research.
