Sanwo-Olu urges citizens to restrategise, contribute to tackling challenges

Lagos State Governor, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, urged citizens to learn and relearn to be part of solutions to the current socio-economic challenges.
Sanwo-Olu gave the charge during the 12th graduation ceremony for upskilled tradesmen and artisans held in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

The event, which had 1,200 graduands, was themed: “Building a Brighter Tomorrow: Through Skills and Innovation.” “Few days ago, I had to oil my skills. I reset my brain for greater tasks ahead. I am better off now.

“I, therefore, urge you all to also reset your brain to be a better citizens for yourself and the country,” he said.

The governor implored the graduands to make best use of the training and equipment provided for them. Sanwo-Olu said he was very happy about the new skills the graduands have acquired, saying: “I am happy because my people are happy. We are giving hope to over a thousand residents. We are also here to celebrate hardworking artisans, as the training will make you better skilled and be able to support your family.

“So, you need to be proud of yourself. You are part of the future we see in Lagos. The world is changing and technology is changing the ways things are done. You are part of the backbone of this economy because not everybody that the big firms can employ.

“You are not only helping yourself, but helping the government to reduce unemployment and we are committed to helping you thrive. There will be starter packs for you. But you have to keep learning and aspire to be the best.”
