A three-day seminar on impartation of employability skills for graduating students of the University of Lagos starts today. It ends August 10. Organised by J-Soji George & Co., a business and management consultancy firm, in conjunction with the Foundation for Leadership Education Development (FLED), it is designed to sharpen skills of students in business administration, education, engineering, science, college of medicine and law of the school, who are in first class and second class upper range. General Electric (GE) will sponsor it.

According to Dr. Olusoji George, senior partner and chief executive of the firm, many Nigerian graduates lack soft skills, but his firm, in conjunction with FLED, is on the mission to train interested students with a view to making them employable.

He said many brilliant Nigerian graduates are not employable because of poor soft skills. “The seminar would help to reduce the level of unemployment in Nigeria, especially, among super graduates,” he said.
