The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has reiterated his commitment to running an inclusive and people-focused administration if elected governor in 2027.
Speaking over the weekend in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, during a series of strategic engagements, Adeola expressed appreciation for the growing support for his candidacy across political and interest groups, promising a leadership style anchored on participation and broad consultation.
“I want to re-assure all my supporters, both old and new, that I will run an inclusive, people-oriented, and development-focused government where no stakeholder will be left behind,” he said.
“My political philosophy is built around consultation, participation, and collective decision-making on issues of socio-economic development of our state.”
During the engagements, the senator met with several groups, including leaders from the Ogun East Assembly (YAYI APEX), Yayi Teachers, Odogbolu political stakeholders, former PDP members from Ogun West, the Ógù General Assembly (Origin Group), and the Triple A (Team Akinlade) group.
Notable stakeholders present included Alhaja Salmot Badru, former deputy governor of Ogun State; Hon. Adekunle Akinlade (popularly known as Triple A), a former governorship candidate; Hon. Jinadu Ahmed of the PDP LADO group in Ogun West; and Comrade Sunday Odunaro, coordinator of Yayi Teachers across 20 local government areas.
Adeola highlighted various constituency projects executed across Ogun West, Central, and East, including road construction, schools, healthcare centres, streetlights, erosion control, and market development projects. He said his administration would build on existing developmental efforts while ensuring equitable distribution of state resources.
He stressed that achieving the aspiration of producing a governor of Ogun West origin would require unity, discipline, sacrifice, and sustained grassroots mobilisation across the state.
The senator also assured new supporters of inclusion in his political structure, promising continued engagement with aggrieved stakeholders.
“I will convene additional reconciliation meetings involving stakeholders and aggrieved political actors to ensure inclusive participation and integration of all support groups into campaign activities,” he said.
In their separate remarks, Alhaja Badru expressed strong support for Adeola’s governorship ambition, describing him as a unifying figure with a strong grassroots presence and development record.
Hon. Akinlade, speaking on behalf of his group and other PDP supporters backing the senator, said Adeola’s ambition had transcended party lines and become a quest for equity and fairness in Ogun State’s political history.
However, he emphasized the need for equal recognition, inclusion in campaign structures, and participation opportunities for all supporting groups in any future administration.
