
Senator representing the federal capital territory (FCT), Ireti Heebah Kingibe has thrown her weight behind the launch of the GreenMyStreet Abuja campaign.
Kingibe who serves as Deputy Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Climate Change remarked that GreenMyStreet Abuja goes beyond cleaner streets to creating a sustainable ecosystem that propels a.climate smart economy, through circular economy opportunities, to improve public health, and safeguards our environment.

The lawmaker added that by engaging over 620,000 eco-citizens and building a comprehensive recycling infrastructure, the initiative is laying the groundwork for a zero waste future that benefits all layers of society.
She also threw her weight behind the Development2RUHOPE Development which is a Pan-Abuja sustainable development accelerator platform dedicated to mobilizing community-based social inclusion and impact investment programs.
Adding further insight on the initiative’s impact, Mr. Victor Wilkinson Agih, the Director General of the 2RUHOPE Development Initiative noted: “The synergy between global waste reduction imperatives and our local action plan is pivotal to the Next generation of green jobs, green finance and green innovation.
“Our integrated approach, from digital ecotokens, Waste to Clean Cooking solutions and ecomobility programmes Fast tracks the SDG 12 targets through the first National Climate smart recycling festival, harnesses community power and innovation, setting a new standard for urban sustainability and circular economies in Abuja.”
