Senator Mustapha Bukar dies at 64, Buhari, Masari mourn
Senator Mustapha Bukar from Kastina State has died. Bukar, 64, died yesterday in Abuja after a brief illness.In a statement, President Muhammadu Buhari commiserated with the family, government and people of Katsina State over the death.
This was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.He also sympathised with the National Assembly on the passing away of the senator, who represented Katsina North Senatorial District.
He described his death as a “great loss to Nigeria’s democracy and the engineering profession.” Buhari said Bukar distinguished himself as an engineer before going into politics.
Also, the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari described Bukar’s death as a sad and painful loss to Katsina State in particular, and the nation in general.
In a statement by his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Abdu Labaran, he described the late lawmaker as “a worthy son and representative of Katsina State, who had given a good account of himself in the Senate.”
