SiBAN partners NITDA, NCC, ZEBEC others for Abuja Digital Asset Summit

The stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN), has entered a strategic partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and others to host the Digital Asset Summit for 2023.

Expected to run between September 6 and 7, 2023, the two-day summit will hold at NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Nigeria.

Addressing journalists in Lagos recently, President of SiBAN, Obinna Iwuno noted that the landmark event would unite industry leaders, policymakers, investors and enthusiasts around the world.

Iwuno, who is also the founder, Crypto Bootcamp Community said: “The Digital Asset Summit ’23 represents a significant milestone for the blockchain industry in Africa. It’s a testament to Nigeria and Africa’s growing influence in the global blockchain landscape.”

Continuing, he added, “the Digital Asset Summit ’23 transcends the traditional conference experience. This is a platform offering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Attendees can expect captivating presentations, interactive sessions and insightful discussions led by global experts.”

On his part, Vice President (Projects, Funding and Strategic Partnerships) for SiBAN and founder BoundlessPay, Franklin Peters, stated that the partnership is in line with the association’s spirit of collaboration and growth.

“We understand that collaborations work best in this ecosystem and that is why we have entered into strategic partnerships with government agencies dedicated to fostering information and communications technology development in Nigeria,” he stated.

Also throwing its support behind the conference is the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), ZEBEC, a Multi-Chain Continuous Settlement Protocol working towards the future of blockchain payment, and COINEX, a renowned cryptocurrency exchange platform offering secure and user-friendly services to traders and investors.

With the theme “Shaping the future of Blockchain in Africa,” Chairman of the Organising Committee for the conference and SiBAN Vice President, Media and Publicity, Emeka Ezike, added: “Digital Asset Summit ’23 underscores SiBAN’s commitment to nurturing the growth and impact of the blockchain industry in Nigeria.”

Ezike, who also serves as the Community Lead at EMURGO Africa, noted that by connecting key players and stakeholders, SiBAN aims to raise awareness, foster connections and accelerate the adoption of digital assets throughout the nation.

He said a key event during the summit would be the stakeholders’ roundtable, where prominent figures will convene to discuss and shape the future of blockchain in Nigeria and Africa.

“We have organised this event strategically to champion the interests of participants in this rapidly evolving space. Holding this event in Abuja is pivotal for us because it serves as a central location for all our members across the country and its proximity to the seat of political power in Nigeria,” he added.
