The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has dismissed claims in some quarters that he would stop ongoing projects in communities that did not vote his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

This is in response to a video where he was seen having a friendly chat with some visitors, eulogising past leaders of the South East for their developmental strides, which the governor is currently replicating in the state.

According to Soludo’s Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, “this innocuous discussion was, however, misconstrued by mischief makers to mislead Ndi Anambra.

“It was clearly a ploy by the opposition to trivialise the victory of APGA in the just concluded state Assembly election.” Aburime, in a statement, said: “The attention of the state government has been drawn to a certain video making the rounds in which Soludo was seen having a friendly chat with some visitors on developmental issues.

“Unfortunately, this friendly conversations has been misconstrued and taken out of context by mischief makers to suggest that ongoing projects embarked upon by his administration would be stopped.

“In as much as the governor do not wish to be distracted by these spurious and unfounded allegations, it is important to state, clearly, that the governor’s friendly conversation has been negatively interpreted and misconstrued.

IN a different development, the Commissioner of Police deployed to Anambra State by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the 2023 House of Assembly election, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has commended people of the state for their peaceful conduct during the polls.

Speaking through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in Awka, yesterday, CP Adeoye noted that this was the same peaceful disposition they exhibited during the last governorship election in 2021, when he was District Commander (DC), Operations, for the Command.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state for its dedication and commitment to conducting transparent and credible exercise, as well as the state government for allowing a level playing ground for people to express their choice.
