Sterling Bank’s branding motivates Mums in Business Fair

The head of communications of Sterling Bank, Tomi Ajakaiye has said, the oncoming Mums in Business Fair and Conference is going to be an empowerment platform for women to have financial freedom, as well as support their husbands.

The head of communications of Sterling Bank, Tomi Ajakaiye has said, the oncoming Mums in Business Fair and Conference is going to be an empowerment platform for women to have financial freedom, as well as support their husbands.

Ajakaye, said this on Tuesday during a press conference at Sterling Bank headquarters, Marina Lagos.

The maiden edition of a two-day event which will hold on the 25th and 26th of November, at Kings College Annex, Victorial Island Lagos, is tittled ‘Mums in Business Fair and Conference’, and powered by One-woman proposition, a product of Sterling Bank for the identification of successful women in business.

According to the organisers of the event, Mums in Business is a platform that brings together successful women in business, which is why the decided to bring together successful women entrepreneurs like, Tara Fela Durotoye, CEO of a Nigerian make-up line, House of Tara, Emem Isong, founder of Royal Arts Academy, a film production company, to tell their stories and share their experiences with younger women who are on the ladder of success.

“The value proposition of One-Woman, comprised of an array of different value-added offerings, to meet financial, business and personal needs of women in Nigeria, and to foster support by providing platforms for women to support other women” they said.

Ajakaiye said, there would be platform for business exhibition, as well as Sterling Maternal Medical Finance (SMMF), available to women for peculiar medical treatments like fibroid. Also, customised debit cards with a bold feminine touch that would provide cardholders access to discounts for spas, makeover services, and furniture/household items at select outlets.

She added that the event is a capacity building program for young women with access to business facilitating loans such as, personal loan, asset acquisition loan, and MSME loans for women entrepreneurship.

Also speaking, Mrs. Justina Lewa, Chief Legal Counsel of Sterling Bank, who said, it has become imperative for women to support each other because when a woman is empowered, she would in turn empower everything around her.

Mrs. Pauline Rumm, Publisher and Editor of Motherhood In-Style Magazine and convener of the Mums in Business Fair and Conference said: “We realised that there is need for women to be empowered so that they can be financially independent”.
