President Bola Tinubu has been advised not to dare tamper with public funds or face the wrath of God.

Pastor of Champion for Christ Chapel, Church Asaba, Delta State, Samuel Akpan-Isong, who gave the advice, said God is angry with the leadership of the country for the way and manner they use the nation’s resources to enrich themselves.

Speaking to The Guardian in Asaba on Wednesday, Akpan-Isong told Mr. President to instead use the country’s resources to bless Nigerians and bring the country back to the path of glory.

The cleric reminded Tinubu that he had made a lot of money as a Senator, two-time governor, national leader, and now President controlling a lot of political machinery, noting, “So we expected Mr President to have done much better than what is on the ground today.”

Pastor Samuel Akpan-Isong tasked men of God to assist him in praying for Tinubu so that the spirit of God could enter him to do the right thing for the system to change for a better Nigeria.

He added, “I have been gathering pastors to pray for Tinubu for the system to change for a better Nigeria. So, men of God should speak the truth to him to change the narrative, but ironically, they go to those in power to collect money for their pockets, then close their mouths and start clapping hands that the President is doing well.”

According to Akpan-Isong, the Nigerian nation is becoming more complex as the years roll by. He lamented that over the years, nothing good seems to be happening.

“Is it about the economy, the political situation of the country, or are you looking at the social injustice and insecurity across the country? Indeed, nobody is comfortable with the things around us except those who are benefiting from it on the negative sides of the situation.”

He also remarked that it is difficult to solve Nigeria’s problems because most people are not willing to do the right thing, and hence, we are going backwards every day.

The cleric added that lip service is being paid to things, even after investing huge amounts of money, but the results go the other way around, and nobody is talking about it. “What a country!”

“So, we start by looking at the problem in the system, and those behind it should be rooted out to allow the system to work for itself. And for that to happen, certain principles must be put in place.

“Forget those praise singers. A lot of people are hungry, crying today, looking for attention, begging for what to eat. Instead of President Bola Tinubu starting to think of how best to solve the problem, they are looking at how to win the next elections.

“Sometimes people leave the Church to steal, for prostitution, all because of the hard economy of the nation which, regrettably, has pushed many to a tight corner,” he lamented.

Following the development, he appealed to the President to “sit up now and do the needful for the country to move forward,” saying “his economic reforms are biting harder by the day.”
