AN 18-year-old man, Dotun Abiodun, on Tuesday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing N25,000 and a Techno phone, valued at N10,500. The accused is facing a charge of stealing from one Felix Nwibo.

The prosecutor, Insp. Ignatius Okeke, told the court that the accused, with others at large, committed the offence at around 8.00p.m. on December 3 at Okota Bridge, Lagos.

Okeke said the accused and his accomplices accosted the complainant and dispossessed him of the phone and money. He said that they took off after committing the act, but ran into a police patrol team, which arrested the accused.

Okeke said that the offence contravened section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The magistrate, Mr. A. Adefulire, granted the accused a bail of N10,000 and adjourned the case till January 27 for mention.
