The Jaguna of Ijebuland, Balogun, dies at 94

He was a pioneer insurance broker that set up Intra Niger Insurance Brokers in 1964 and a co-founder of Nigeria Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).

The death has occurred of Chief Tunde Odutola Balogun, the Jaguna of Ijebuland). He died on March 14, 2016 at the age of 94.

He was a pioneer insurance broker that set up Intra Niger Insurance Brokers in 1964 and a co-founder of Nigeria Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).

Later, he co-founded Equity Indemnity Insurance Limited now Equity Assurance Plc . Apart from Equity Group of Companies, he served on the Boards of various companies including Bacita Sugar Company, Prote; lSobratel (Telecommunications) and Managed Healthcare Services.

Balogun was a member of Yoruba Tennis Club, Island Club and Metropolitan Club all in Lagos. He also served in both Lagos State Sport Council and the Nigerian Football Association. He was former junior Billands Champion at the Island club.

He is survived by wife, Muyi Alatishe Balogun, children Mrs. Ibironke Shogbola, Ibidapo Balogun, Oladipupo Balogun and others.

Burial arrangement will be announced by the family.
