A renewed attack by the Fulani herdsmen on the people of Sengev district of Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State yesterday left three persons dead and hundreds of people displaced, even as several others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Sources in the area told The Guardian that Tse-Agbulu, Tse-Atakpa and Tse-Abichi among others were the villages besieged by the marauders at about 3.00 pm shooting sporadically, just as many were matcheted and dispossessed of their money and handsets.

Those wounded, the sources said were receiving treatment at Naka, headquarters of the local council.

Irked by the incessant killing of their people by the herdsmen, the Tyohin Development Association led by its president, Dr. Sylvester Ugbegili in a statement made available to The Guardian condemned the unprovoked attack and grazing of cattle on farmland, causing damage to crops.
