President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Ms. Damilola Ogunbiyi, Chief Executive Officer and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All, on her recognition as the only Nigerian named among Forbes Sustainability Leaders 2025, a list of 50 global figures driving climate action.
The President commended Ms. Ogunbiyi for her outstanding leadership in advancing an equitable energy transition that prioritizes underprivileged communities, particularly across the Global South.
He noted her pioneering role in championing the UN-led Energy Compacts and the Mission 300 partnership, which seeks to provide electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030, initiatives that underscore Nigeria’s contributions to the global climate and energy agenda.
President Tinubu affirmed that the honour reflects not only Ms. Ogunbiyi’s personal excellence but also Nigeria’s growing influence in shaping sustainable development solutions worldwide.
He urged her to remain a source of inspiration to young Nigerians and women across Africa and wished her continued success as she carries the nation’s flag proudly on the world stage.
