Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Tinubu, on Monday commissioned a series of completed projects in Kogi State, marking the first anniversary of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s tenure.

The Guardian reports that the Vice President, who arrived in the state accompanied by APC National Chairman Dr. Umar Ganduje and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, received a rousing welcome upon landing at Dangote Airstrip around 12:00 noon.

The Vice President and his entourage were warmly received by Gov. Ododo, his deputy Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, commissioners, and other government officials.

The list of projects commissioned includes the Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction Road (9 km), Zone 8-Crusher Road (5.5 km), 350-bed hostels for both boys and girls at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), a demonstration farm, two faculties in the same university, and several primary healthcare centers across the state.

Addressing the President’s delegation, Gov. Ododo stated that the executed projects demonstrate his commitment to improving the well-being of the people of Kogi State.

He noted that the projects, scattered across the state, were part of his campaign promises to the people who elected him to serve as their chief servant.

The governor expressed gratitude to his predecessor for laying a solid foundation for him to build upon for the state’s growth and development.

After commissioning the projects, the Vice President and his entourage proceeded to the Government House, where they held private discussions with stakeholders in the state before heading to Muhammadu Buhari Square for the main anniversary celebration.
