Tinubu is the leader Nigeria deserves at this time — Ex- Reps member

As many members of five political parties in Abia state defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a former two-term member of the House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia Constituency in Abia State until May 2023, Chief Sam Onuigbo, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is, indeed, the leader Nigeria deserves at this present time.

He also said that the growing measure of endorsement of his impactful progressive governance by public acclaim speaks of the acceptance of the APC-led federal government.

He added that the humongous achievements recorded by the President Tinubu-led APC administration through the Renewed Hope Agenda, show that experience counts in effective human and public resources management, as has been exhibited by the president in less than two years in office.

Onuigbo made these remarks on Monday on the occasion of the inauguration of the Abia Central Chapter of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), an initiative of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, which, he said, (RHP) has the “sole mandate to ensure the re-election of President Tinubu through citizen inclusion and participation”.

Highlight of the event was receiving into the APC some members of other political parties and the inauguration of the Abia Central Zone RHP Support Group being coordinated by Dr. Pat Ikechi.

The state APC Secretary, Chief Chidi Avajah, who represented the state Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, said that their defection to the APC is their constitutionally provisioned right.

He charged the defectors to return to their Wards thereafter and do the needful that can position the APC towards winning elections.

According to the state APC Central Zone Chairman, His Honour, Chief Lawrence Ukatta, the day marks another beginning of the forward movement of the APC towards electing more Abians into positions of being part of partaking in the sharing of the national cake.

Three spokespersons of the defectors – Mr. Enyi Ezeri of the PDP, Paul Nwachukwu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Lady Chinyere Ehilegbu, a former Special Assistant to former governor Okezie Ikpeazu – corroborated that their defection was motivated by the desideratum to belonging to the central (federal) ruling party (APC).

It was announced that the inauguration of the other Zonal and LGA’s RHP Executives will follow soon.
