Tinubu presides over FEC meeting
President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the resumed Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
This is just as Council members congratulated the people of Edo State, especially the APC family in the state, on their “fantastic outing” in last Saturday’s governorship election.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, who expressed the Council’s feelings at the commencement of the meeting, also lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to free and fair elections, stating that the APC’s huge victory, which had eluded the party for over eight years, was a testament to the President’s dedication to democracy.
“We want to use this opportunity, Mr. Chairman, to congratulate the people of Edo States, particularly the APC family, properly guided by the father of the APC, in their fantastic outing, recording a huge victory, which had eluded the APC for over eight years.
“The election has been adjudged to be free and fair and that is what Mr. President has always stood for. We want to thank you, Mr. President, for being committed to the electoral process and ethos of democracy.
“Once again, we thank our family members of the APC from Edo state for this wonderful showing.
Also, the Council observed a minute of silence in honor of a deceased former member, Mrs. Salome Audu Jankada, who died on the 27th of August, 2024.
