In a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to peace, justice, and sustainable development in the Niger Delta, President Bola Tinubu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the 10th Anniversary celebration of GbaramatuVoice, the foremost pan-Niger Delta media organization.
The historic two-day event, featuring a Public Lecture and the Niger Delta Night of Honor, will be held on Wednesday, August 27, and Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The milestone anniversary will highlight a decade of impactful journalism, cultural preservation, and advocacy for the Niger Delta cause. It will also reflect the renewed attention the Tinubu administration has brought to inclusivity and dialogue in addressing Nigeria’s pressing developmental challenges.
Joining the President at the event will be Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; and other senior government officials, alongside Niger Delta governors, legislators, diplomats, industry stakeholders, traditional rulers, and civil society leaders.
Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, National Chairman of PANDEF, will chair the events, while Professor Benjamin Okaba, President of the Ijaw National Congress, will deliver the keynote lecture.
Royal fathers from across the Niger Delta, led by His Royal Majesty Oboro-Gbaraun II, Aketekpe, Agadagba, Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, will grace the occasion. Distinguished Niger Delta leaders, including High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), will also be present.
The Public Lecture, scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, at Anambra Hall, Transcorp Hilton, will begin at 10:30 a.m., while the Niger Delta Night of Honor will hold on Thursday, August 28, at the Congress Hall, with red carpet at 4:00 p.m. and the main ceremony at 5:00 p.m.
With the theme, “Gaps and Silences in Nigeria’s Oil & Gas Economy: Appraisal of Resource Control, Security & Media Dynamics”, the anniversary is designed to provide a national platform for dialogue and cultural expression while recognizing outstanding contributions to peace and development.
