Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has said reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are helping states deliver massive projects and meet salary as well as pension obligations without borrowing.
Dikko Radda made this known on Sunday at the Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA) 2027 Islamiyya Teachers’ Empowerment, School Commissioning and Virtual Commissioning of 45 Solar Streetlights held at the Continental Events and Sports Complex, Katsina.
He said that like several states in the country that used to rely on loans to pay salaries, Katsina under his watch has been able to pay salaries and pensions promptly without borrowing a single dime.
He also added that his administration has been able to execute several people-oriented projects worth over N30 billion without taking a single loan.
“Today, there is no sector where we are taking a loan to execute a single project in Katsina State. We are paying pensions and meeting our obligations to the people of Katsina,” he said.
He said none of these would have been possible were it not for president Tinubu’s reforms, even as commended the president for his foresight and leadership qualities.
Radda said leadership must be judged by performance and measurable results, not by political rhetoric or negative narratives.
“Once leaders make promises to the people, they have a responsibility to fulfil those promises. Leadership is built on trust, not deception,” he said.
He commended the TDA initiative for targeting grassroots beneficiaries, especially Islamiyya teachers, even as he announced a personal donation of ₦10,000 to each of the 690 beneficiaries, totaling ₦6.9 million, and rounded up to ₦7 million.
Earlier, former governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, said anyone who refused to acknowledge the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Radda was being hypocritical.
Masari highlighted major Federal Government infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other strategic roads, saying improved infrastructure would create economic opportunities and support agriculture.
The former governor also commended improvements along the Kaduna-Abuja Road, describing them as evidence of the impact of effective leadership.
The Deputy Chairman of the APC in the state, Bala Musawa, commended Governor Radda for his empowerment programmes and development initiatives.
Musawa said Katsina remained politically stable due to cooperation among political leaders and expressed confidence that the APC would win the forthcoming elections across the state.
