Triipy is an emerging versatile new-school artiste from Port Harcourt but currently based in Lagos, Nigeria. In the hands of Triipy, singing and rapping are in a harmonious and graceful dialogue. What is the difference between living in Port Harcourt and Lagos for you?
The difference for me is the entertainment industry and the lifestyle in general. Port Harcourt to me has to be the center of entertainment and music in Nigeria, maybe arguably Africa because the city has always birthed a special breed of creatives. When you live in Port Harcourt as a creative as a lover of good music and arts in general, you get to experience a plethora of unique and distinctive music and arts that stands out from the bigger entertainment industry, that is why it is home to some of the best musical exports in the country.

Please tell us about yourself. Why Music?
First my name is Triipy, a musical artiste from Port Harcourt City, Nigeria. Music to me has always been something I’ve loved since day one, and when I say day one I mean when was really young. While growing up I played drums in church and that became my musical foundation, from then on I fell in love with the idea of making music generally.

You recently dropped your first single for 2023. Tell us about the journey and how you created the song
I will say my musical journey has similar pattern to the story of the Migos. This is because years back I used to be part of a trap trio, but later on we separated and my first single Bad Belle was created from my bad experiences with some people I used to call Family.
