The directive for all agencies of government to comply with the Treasury Single Account (TSA) delayed the payment of military pensions, the leadership of Military Pension Board has said.

The Chairman, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Dabo made this known yesterday in Abuja at the press briefing to herald the 2015 pension verification exercise.

He said “the directive for all agencies to ensure a Single account by the government has cause the delay, but as we are sitting here, I have being informed that the Central Bank of Nigeria has sent the alert, and by Monday or Tuesday latest, your salaries will be paid unfailingly.”

He said the military pensioners verification exercise, which is supposed to be conducted annually but was last conducted three years ago, is meant to ensure effective administration of military pensions.
