Tsav decries killings in Benue, Akume seeks support for Ortom
A RETIRED Commissioner of Police and elder statesman in Benue State, Alhaji Abubabar Tsav has decried the wave of killings of political elders in the state, urging the Inspector General of Police to rise up to the challenge.
Tsav, who expressed disgust while chatting with The Guardian at his Makurdi residence, further blamed the government and the security agents for allegedly compromising.
He also said the killing of people in the Sankera axis of the state could also be the fault of everybody in the area, wondering why nobody was volunteering information about the hideout of the heinous killers.
Meanwhile, leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State and Senator representing Benue North-West at the National Assembly, George Akume, has showered praises on Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, saying he has started administering the state on a sound footing.
Akume, a former governor of the state showered the praises in Gbajimba, Guma Local Government Area and home country of Governor Ortom when the erstwhile governor in company with Chief Steven Lawani, immediate past deputy governor of the state, visited him.
Tsav continued: “There is evidence that the politicians themselves equipped these boys with arms and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. And there are so many elders in the state and no body is saying anything about the killings,” Tsav added.
While making reference to the Boko Haram saga in the North- East, the erstwhile Commissioner of Police said the killings going on in the state are like how Boko Haram started and today it is getting worst.
