UAE condoles Nigeria, reiterates stand against terrorism after mosque attack

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended condolences to Nigeria following the recent terrorist attack on a mosque in the country’s northern region that claimed multiple lives.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) described the incident as “heinous” and reiterated the Gulf nation’s position against extremism in all forms.

“The UAE strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted worshippers in a mosque in northern Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of a number of innocent people,” the ministry said.

It added that Abu Dhabi “reaffirms its firm rejection of all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.”

The statement also conveyed condolences to Nigeria. “The UAE expresses its sincere sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” it said.

The condolence message comes as Nigeria continues to face recurring terrorist attacks in the northern region, prompting renewed calls for global support in combating insecurity.
