
The Obi of Uga Kingdom, Aguata Local Council of Anambra State, Igwe Chidi Ezenwugo, has condoled with Governor Chukwuma Soludo over the passing of his father, Pa Simeon Nwankwo Soludo (Ichie Akukananwa 1), on Monday, at 92 years of age.
Pa Soludo’s passing was disclosed, yesterday, through a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime.
A statement issued in Abuja, yesterday, by Chief Chukwudi Ezeobika on behalf of the monarch indicated that Pa Soludo, who lived an exemplary life, would be greatly missed.
According to the statement, the standards the patriarch set for Isuofia and Uga kingdoms remain unmatched.
It added: “The news of the passing of Pa Soludo, the father of the Anambra governor, Prof. Soludo, was received with sadness by the Uga Kingdom”.
“Pa Soludo, until his demise, was an outstanding patriarch of the Soludo family and the people of Isuofia and Uga. It is our sincere prayer that God grants him eternal rest and gives His Excellency and his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
The monarch also prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
“Please accept, Your Excellency, my deepest sympathy and the assurances of my highest esteem,” the monarch’s statement added.
The Government House statement noted: “Pa Soludo is survived by seven sons, eight daughters-in-law, 22 grand-children and six great-grandchildren.”
Governor Soludo said his late father lived a fulfilled life and died at the ripe age of 92.
