Nigerian-born, UK-based gospel singer and worship leader, Min. Adeoluwa (Adeoluwa Boluwajaiye), has clinched the Best Praise and Worship Leader award at the 8th edition of the prestigious GX Awards in the United Kingdom.
The GX Awards, founded by UK gospel personality Aniette B, celebrates excellence, creativity, and consistency in Christian music. Over the years, it has honoured some of the most influential voices in the UK gospel scene. This year’s edition also recognized veteran artist Noel Robinson with multiple wins, alongside Reblah, Lytie, Priscilla Bailey, and South Africa’s Covenant Voices.
Min. Adeoluwa, known for tracks such as It Is Written in His Word, Mary’s Praise, and The Names of God, was nominated in three categories — Best Newcomer, Best Song, and Best Praise and Worship Leader. His victory in the latter category has been widely celebrated both in Nigeria and across the UK gospel community.
Reacting to the award, the singer expressed gratitude and humility, calling it an honour to share the category with some of the UK’s finest gospel voices.
“Truly an honour to stand alongside legends like Noel Robinson, CalledOut Music, Warehouse Worship, and other incredible nominees,” he wrote on Instagram following the ceremony.
Looking ahead, Min. Adeoluwa is preparing to release a new single this September, *Agbára Jésù Wá Síbè* (“The Power of Jesus Is Present Here”), a special project dedicated to his mother’s 70th birthday.
Rooted in the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) heritage of worship, the song carries the weight of a spiritual warfare anthem while presenting it with a fresh, contemporary sound.
Significantly, the track features his father, making it a cross-generational testimony of faith. Citing Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever”, Adeoluwa describes the song as a sound of victory and a declaration that God’s power and presence remain ever constant.
With his GX Award win and the upcoming release, Min. Adeoluwa continues to establish himself as one of the most promising scripture-rooted gospel voices bridging Nigeria and the UK.
