Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has finally issued a certificate of return to Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Imo North senatorial election.

The embattled senator was issued the certificate about 4p.m. yesterday at INEC headquarters in Abuja.

Few days ago, Uwajumogu had led his supporters to the INEC office protesting against the electoral body’s refusal to issue him the certificate, even after a court order.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court had compelled INEC to issue Uwajumogu a sealed certificate of return.

After collecting the certificate, Uwajumogu commended the judiciary for standing by the truth.
