Uzodinma appoints self commissioner for lands in Imo
Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, has appointed himself as the commissioner for lands in the state.
Uzodinma made the announcement during the inauguration of 24 newly appointed commissioners at the Government House in Owerri on Tuesday, 30 April.
According to him, his decision to appoint himself is a move to prevent a repeat of past incidents.
He cited the example of a previous commissioner who was involved in controversial land deals towards the end of his first tenure.
In March, Uzodinma appointed his brother Ferdinand as the deputy chief of staff in charge of general services in the state.
Ferdinand Uzodinma, is a former chairperson of Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
It was the second set of appointments since Uzodinma was sworn in as governor for his second term in office on 15 January.
