Varsity VC urges students to shun negativity, bans LGBTQ

The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Prof. Oyeduni Arulogun, has urged new students of the institution to shun cultism, examination malpractice, and other social vices that can mar their academic pursuits in the university.

The Vice-Chancellor was speaking at the matriculation of the 376 newly admitted students of the university for the 2024/2025 academic session.

She urged the students to consider the ceremony, which marked their official admission into the university, as the beginning of the most important phase of their lives and to explore the opportunity for self-development to excel in their chosen careers.

The varsity don advised the students to be guided by the university’s core values of godliness, excellence, service, leadership, integrity, and innovation, saying that imbibing these values would help them navigate the challenges ahead.

Arulogun said, “Today marks a new dawn for all of you. It is the beginning of the next and most important phase of your life. Hence, I urge you to take it seriously and with utmost dedication.

“This university has zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, including examination malpractices, cultism, unruly and violent behavior, drug addiction, and willful destruction of university property.

“We shall not hesitate to sanction any form of misdemeanors. Respect your colleagues and staff of the university and make your stay in the university very fruitful and productive.

“As you embark on this important journey, I urge you to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to your academic pursuit.”

She added that the university would remain committed to pursuing academic brilliance and nurturing a generation of innovative and informed leaders who have what it takes to foster growth and rapid development across the world.

The guest lecturer at the event, Dr. Emma Jimo, charged students to engage in self-discovery to become great in life.

He urged the students to be innovative, challenge the status quo, and shun all forms of negative tendencies, especially the ravaging evil of LGBTQ, describing it as the most evil machination against the human race.
